Creamy, naturally sweet, and made without heavy cream.
A delicious frozen treat made with bananas, cocoa, and Greek yogurt.
Ingredients:
- 2 medium ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
- ¼ cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup, optional
- 1–2 tbsp milk, as needed for blending
Instructions:
- Freeze the bananas: Slice the ripe bananas and freeze them for at least 3–4 hours, or until solid.
- Blend the ingredients: Add the frozen bananas, Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract to a food processor or high-powered blender.
- Adjust the texture: Blend until smooth and creamy, adding a little milk at a time if needed. Scrape down the sides as necessary.
- Taste and sweeten: Taste the mixture and add honey or maple syrup if desired.
- Serve or freeze: Enjoy immediately as soft-serve ice cream, or transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1–2 hours for a firmer texture.
- Scoop and enjoy: If frozen solid, let it sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before scooping.
Pro Tip: Use very ripe bananas for natural sweetness. For extra texture and flavor, add a few dark chocolate chips or chopped nuts before serving.
